MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The world’s first favorite Japanese cat was spotted in Daiso Japan at Robinsons Galleria on March 15, 2019. The Japanese store chain launched a limited edition Beep Card featuring none other than Hello Kitty, in collaboration with AF Payments Inc.

Avid fans of the Sanrio’s beloved feline flocked to the store to grab their very own limited edition reloadable smart transit cards—and a chance to meet, greet, and have a photo with Hello Kitty.   

“Hello Kitty is one of the most iconic cartoon characters and we believe it will be a popular addition to our line-up of limited edition beep™ cards,” said Peter Maher, president and CEO of AF Payments Inc.

“The Hello Kitty Limited Edition beep™ card allows fans and collectors to showcase their unique personality with their everyday tap-and-go payment card,” he added.

The Hello Kitty Limited Edition beep™ comes in blue, red, and yellow. Each card is sold for P188 in Metro Manila branches of Daiso Japan starting March 15.

The Hello Kitty Limited Edition beep™ cards can be used to fare payments in Metro Manila’s 3 elevated railways: LRT1, LRT2, and MRT. It can also be used in select city buses such as BGC Bus, Citylink Coach Services and majority of the Point-to-Point (P2P) buses. It is also accepted in NLEX and CAVITEX to pay for toll fees
